The history of Forvia Faurecia in Portugal began in S. João da Madeira, with the acquisition of a majority stake in the Molaflex company by the French group Bertrand Faure Automobili – which gave rise to the Faurecia group – which at the time was active in the automotive sector.
With the acquisition of a majority stake in HELLA, Faurecia and HELLA jointly formed FORVIA – a global automotive supplier with a portfolio of advanced technologies and a strong capacity for innovation. Aligned with key industry trends and high-growth technology areas, FORVIA is ideally positioned to provide safe, sustainable, technological and individualized mobility solutions.
Forvia Faurecia currently has six industrial units and a Competence and Research & Development Center in Portugal.
In S. João da Madeira, you can visit Forvia Faurecia Moldados and get to know the manufacturing process of the headrests, armrests and foam seats of our cars up close, touring the production halls of its multiple injection and cutting and sewing lines. With more than a century of history, they are the seventh largest supplier in the sector worldwide, employing more than 150,000 people in more than 40 countries.
