The CTCP – Centro Tecnológico do Calçado de Portugal is a non-profit organization founded in 1986 by the sector’s industrial association (APICCAPS) and two Institutes of the Ministry of Economy dedicated to supporting innovation – IAPMEI and INETI.
Its main objectives are to provide technical and technological support to companies in the footwear sector, supporting them in their various activities related to their business strategies.
Born from a small technical laboratory dedicated to carrying out quality control tests and trials, it was mainly from 1990 onwards that the CTCP took on a more active role in approaching and getting closer to companies, starting to intervene in other areas, namely chemical and physical testing; certification of companies and products; design and multimedia; industrial property, among others.
CTCP provides visitors with an immersion in the technological advances that drive quality in this traditional art of Portuguese footwear know-how.
With guided visits to the research and development laboratories, visits to the Center allow for greater awareness of sustainability and social responsibility in the production and use of shoes.
Exploring projects and initiatives that seek to integrate environmentally conscious and ethical practices in the industry are some of the topics covered during the course.
By combining cutting-edge technology with a sustainable approach, this Center stands out as a catalyst for the future of the footwear industry in Portugal and beyond!
